Flushing these products may clog your household sewage pipes. Wipes, paper towels, or similar products should be discarded in your household trash. Wipes also can clog the public sewer system running through your neighborhood. These unnecessary clogs can result in sewage in your or your neighbor's basement or onto the yards in your area.
If the water in your building has not been used for a period of time, flushing your system is recommended to maintain water quality. Further information is available at Guidance for Premise Plumbing Water Service Restoration.
Hydrant flushing begins on August 5, 2019. A map and flushing schedule is available here.
